“But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.” (Matthew 28:5-6)
Our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ has been raised from the dead and because he has been raised from the dead, he is not going to die again death has no dominion over him again. As the baptized people of God, we imitate Jesus Christ, die with him, and rise with him. We put to death all our old ways; all the sinful desires must be crucified with Christ. When we put to death all those things, die with Christ, we are guaranteed eternal life and will be free from the slavery of sin. We must be dead to sin and be alive for God through Christ Jesus.
The power of the resurrection is something that cannot be understood. Through the love that Jesus Christ has for us he gave himself up to be crucified so that you and I would be saved from eternal damnation, therefore the power of the resurrection emboldens us to move with power. This power brings life, new birth, restoration, hope, healing, deliverance, freedom and peace. The resurrection power will bring everything dead in us back to life, it will energize us, and give us new strength. Today everything in our lives will be made new through the power of the resurrection and beloved this is what strengthens our Christian faith.
It is our prayer that the resurrection of our lord Jesus Christ will lead us into the world to witness about the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, may it put away all our fears, sadness, pain, suffering, and hopelessness. Jesus is longer in the tomb therefore all this is gone, he is going before us to meet us at a place of his chosen, are you ready to meet him there?
Let us allow the resurrection of our Lord to impact our life as Christians so that we will be able to put away our former ways, be free from the slavery of sin and have life and have it in abundance because if you are saved by Christ, you are saved indeed.
Christ is Risen! Amen
